CSA Las Vegas Returns to FIRY HQ for Its Second Chapter Meeting

The Cloud Security Alliance Las Vegas chapter returned to FIRY’s Las Vegas headquarters on September 29 for its second chapter meeting. The event brought cybersecurity professionals together for an evening of learning, networking, and conversation.

FIRY was proud to provide a space for the city’s cybersecurity community to connect and exchange ideas.

The presentation covered how organizations can turn cyber threat information into practical decisions that help protect the systems, data, and operations that matter most to their business.

They discussed the importance of understanding an organization’s environment before collecting threat intelligence. This includes knowing which assets and applications are most critical, identifying the threats most relevant to the business, and focusing on information that can help security teams take action.

They also covered how threat intelligence programs can grow over time, from monitoring trusted sources and producing basic reports to using more advanced tools and creating insights for different audiences. Executives, security leaders, and analysts each need different information, so intelligence should be tailored to the decisions each group needs to make.

Another key theme was measuring the value of threat intelligence by what changes as a result. Rather than focusing on the amount of data collected, organizations should look at whether intelligence led to faster action, better detection, or stronger security decisions.

The meeting also gave hiring managers and job seekers time to connect, continuing the chapter’s goal of building a stronger cybersecurity network in Las Vegas.

FIRY is happy to continue hosting CSA Las Vegas and supporting the growth of the cybersecurity community in our city. We look forward to welcoming the chapter back for future events.
